The Centre for Women in the Himalayas (CWH)is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious association based in Geneva, Switzerland.The Centre for Women in the Himalayas which aims at improving the lives of women and girls in the Himalayan regions. Women form the very backbone of rural communities in the Himalayas. Therefore, the Centre is a platform for enabling, knowledge-building, knowledge-sharing and learning aimed at empowering all women in the Himalayan areas. It promotes gender-inclusive development practices by all stakeholders in the region. Currently, the Centre is looking for

Fundraising Coordinator

Volunteer position

Mission and Activities

· Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions; develop fundraising activity plans that maximize participation or contributions.

· Ability to research, identify, assess and develop new fundraising opportunities and relationships amongst institutional donors, private foundations, trusts, and individuals to diversify and increase revenue streams.

· To maintain strong working relationships with other existing donors and partner organizations.

· To follow up approaches and check on progress to ensure funding applications are fully considered by donors, ensuring relevant data is provided as required.

· Coordinate web-based fundraising activities, by the help of online auctions or donation web sites.

· Secure commitments of participation or donation from individuals or corporate donors; solicit cash or in-kind donations or sponsorships from individual, business, or government donors.

· Work with Communications and Marketing Department on publicity and promotion of (CWH) special events and activities; assist with social media and communications as needed for same.

· Write reports or prepare presentations to communicate fundraising data.

· Advising and directing the new service and installation associates on welfare and profits.

· Facilitating the extra finances to achieve the monetary fund needs and organizing many other events continuously in order to gather funds for the cause.

· Collaborating with the chairman or head administrator of the organization in order to execute some other tasks, which need their help.

Candidate Profile

· Bachelor’s degree in commerce with specialization in accounts, finance or a related field.

· Two or more years experiences in fundraising field, event organizing field.

· Good information in administrating, upholding, good interacting, discussing and persuasive skills.

· Good knowledge of internet and computer data principles.

· Fluency in French and English, spoken and written.

· Evidence of good analytical and problem solving skills.

· Good organizational and communication skills.

· Comfortable working within a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team.

· Good knowledge of and affinity with the Himalayas are a definite asset
